  1. Cost Per Call Question
Question. The cost of a long distance phone call to Africa is given by the function below where t is time in minutes. C(t) = 1.84 + 0.58t

    A. How much will a phone call that last 15 minutes 30 seconds cost? Explain how you know.

    B. If the cost of phone call is $5.32, what is the length of the phone call in minutes? Explain how you know.

Answer (A)I converted 15.5 to the (t) for the time he talked on the phone. I got an answer of $10.83 by adding $1.84 for the initial charge, the i multiplied $0.58x15.5 to get the charge. Then I added the initial charge $1.84 to the $8.99 and got a total coast for the phone call of $10.83

Answer(B) I subtracted $1.84 for the initial charge and ended up with $3.48, I then divided that by $0.58 for the coast per minute to get a total of 6 minutes.
