Welcome

Welcome all to the PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) bloggers world in Norristown, Pa. Here we focus on the "Open-Ended" Questions of the PSSA. The open-ended questions require an answer and an explanation of how you solved the problem.

Here are some strategies you should use while do the questions.
  • Read the question carefully and completely. Make sure you understand what the question is asking.
  • Make a plan for solving the problem. Think about what strategies you can use.
  • Check the directions to make sure you are answering what is asked.
  • When you show your work, include labels such as measurement units.
  • When you explain, make the explanation complete, clear, and easy to understand.
  • Finally, if you can't solve the whole problem, answer any parts that you can. Explain everything that you can.
